Scott McClintock serves as a Senior Vice President at the Hawthorn Group, L.C., where he will be taking over the Hawthorn regional office in September.
McClintock is a longtime aide of Mississippi’s former governor, Phil Bryant where he served the state over five years in different roles as the governor’s Aide-de-Camp, Director of Policy, and Chief of Staff. During that time, he oversaw the governor’s keystone legislation in a number of fields including criminal justice, infrastructure, gaming, and regulation; he also managed the day-to-day running of the governor’s office and state government.
While his roots are at the state-level of government, McClintock has also spent time on the national and international scene. While in the Bureau of Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, McClintock led the confirmation of over 70 ambassadors and senior State Department officials through the U.S. Senate. He also worked on the Presidential Transition Team in the Department of Legislative Affairs and still serves as a White House Advance Associate.
McClintock is active in the Republican Party, having overseen operational special projects for the 2016 GOP Convention in Cleveland and is serving as the liaison between the 2020 Convention in Charlotte and the nation’s governors, attorneys general, state governments, and the Diplomatic Corps of the State Department.
