Chad Carlough is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in government service, political strategy, and leadership. Chad is an Eagle Scout with a career marked by delivering solutions at various levels of government. Chad is a 2007 U.S. Coast Guard Academy graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and his commission to the U.S. Coast Guard officer corps.
Throughout his Coast Guard career, he served in various capacities aboard the USCGC MORGENTHAU and USCGC MONOMOY and was the Commanding Officer of USCGC YELLOWFIN. Chad served as a Fellow on the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security while assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard’s Office of Congressional and Governmental Affairs (CG-0921).
After separating from the Coast Guard, Chad served as a Professional Staff Member on the Committee on Homeland Security, Legislative Director and Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Bradley Byrne, and Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Jerry Carl. In addition to his legislative experience, Chad served as the Director of Policy and Strategic Communications for the Donald J. Trump for President 2020 campaign.
Chad holds a Joint Professional Military Education in Strategy certificate from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Business Administration from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary.
Chad and his wife, Sloane, have two children.
